Ideal International School recently organized a comprehensive and practical fire safety awareness session for its students, with the objective of equipping them with essential life-saving skills for emergency situations.
The session was conducted under the guidance of Fire Station Officer Kishor Tirkey (Pisca), along with his dedicated team members, Fireman Driver Narendra Kumar Mahto and Fireman Pyare Lal Tambwar. Their expertise and hands-on approach made the session both engaging and highly informative.
During the program, Narendra Kumar Mahto delivered a detailed demonstration on handling various fire-related emergencies that may arise at home or in school due to causes such as electrical short circuits, gas cylinder leaks, and other accidental incidents.
Students were introduced to key safety practices, including:
- Remaining calm and alert during fire emergencies
- Ensuring proper ventilation by opening windows
- Safely managing a burning gas cylinder using appropriate techniques
- Controlling small fires with a wet blanket or bedsheet
- Correct and effective use of fire extinguishers
- Taking immediate steps to ensure personal and collective safety
The live demonstration of fire extinguisher usage was particularly impactful, giving students practical exposure and boosting their confidence in handling real-life situations.
